How To Source Wholesale Contacts

All retailers (be they regular store owners, eBay participants, or those with online stores) need to find wholesale suppliers for the products they plan on selling. When first starting out, this is a very difficult task. Probably the most common question asked by people wanting to retail goods is where they can find reliable wholesale contacts.

Hearing Impaired Phones
A Wireless headset phone, cordless phones, amplified cordless phone, telephone headsets, Ameriphone TTY, hearing impaired bluetooth are some of the many the hearing impaired phones available in the market for hard of hearing.

One good place to start is to visit the local trade shows which service your chosen sector. This is probably the best source as all those participating in the trade shows are actually looking for business and to sell their products. Make sure you collect the contact details of these suppliers (usually, a business card is sufficient) and you can then contact them later at a time more convenient to you. Purchasing at the trade show is never recommended. Generally, you get a better deal by making a purchase a bit later.

In addition to meeting wholesale suppliers, trade shows offer another major benefit: trade organizations usually promote their services at these shows. It is always worth while joining these organizations - you get known in the industry and will be first to hear about 'dodgy' suppliers and wholesale contacts.

An even more direct way of finding suppliers is to simply look for the manufacturer's details on the packaging of products you wish to market. You will usually find the manufacturer's name and address - and often a contact phone number. Then it's a simple matter of contacting the manufacturer and enquiring about who their wholesaler agent is. A simple, but very effective technique!

Don't forget the most common way of finding business contacts - your local Yellow Pages! Look up the product you are researching in the index, and you will very quickly discover a whole list of potential wholesale contacts. You are probably surprised that I haven't mentioned the internet as a source of wholesale contacts. No, this is no oversight. In my experience, most 'so-called' wholesalers who advertise on the internet are really middle men. Their prices will invariably be higher than genuine wholesalers as they are taking their profit by adding a margin for themselves.

One final thing: before commencing your search, be sure to apply for a resale license. A resale license permits you to legally purchase at wholesale prices. Many of the bigger suppliers require a resale license number in order to process your order. The license also helps in bookkeeping as you can very easily get a list of all transactions made.
